Bleh...Starting Over

I'm just going to say it. I'm tired of starting over.

I know, I really haven't had to do it that much in my life, but I am still weary of it. I am tired of saying goodbye to wonderful friends and trying to make new ones. I am tired of silly change of address forms. I am tired of unpacking boxes, updating our information and finding new physicians. I am tired of figuring out room layouts, deciding what to put in the kitchen drawers and trying to remember where I decided to put things in the kitchen drawers.

I guess all this weariness has carried over to my blogging habits. I haven't been too good as of late, have I? Don't answer that. And before I start waxing philosophical about all the craziness in my life, I'll just go ahead and say it: I'm tired of apologizing too. The blog slipped. I hope you still love me.

We moved to a new house! It is a pretty little 2-bedroom, 1927, 1-story home. We love it. We don't love the 185 foot sewer line. Seriously. Who, even in 1927, thought that would be a good idea?

I am staying busy with Miss V and part-time work doing HR as a staffing specialist with an employment service. I work about 10-20 hours a week and usually only 1 day outside the home. Pretty good gig, and great pay for a part-time job!

In my spare time I've been trying to get V's nursery done before her 1st birthday. It is looking more and more possible, but I'm bummed my Mom is going back to work (as a teacher). I think my progress has had a lot to do with the many summer days she has spent here helping with my little sweetie.

Church is wonderful. We love our congregation. We love the Karen people. We love the combination of cultures and ages. It is a blessing to do ministry here.

Well, that is it for now. I'm sure I'll soon be boring you with a few catch-up book reviews. Please forgive those! :)

Carrie- I have to say that you have handled all of the "starting over" very well. It is not easy and it's OK to feel frustrated by it. Thankfully you are settled in your house and it is looking great. I have enjoyed every bit of time I've spent with all of you in Huron. I'm am really going to miss those days as I head back to the reality of a school year. However, your Dad and I will still be heading to Huron on a regular basis and we hope you will keep coming to Sioux Falls as often as possible. I am so very glad you are close by. Love you bunches. Mom :)

You mentioned that you have Karen people in your church. Are they the same people who first heard the gospel from Adonirom and Ann Judson? Am I thinking of the right people group? Where are they from?

Glad to hear you're enjoying life in Huron!

Yay!!! Carrie is back on a blog- whoohoo!! No apologies needed. And I am totally with you on the relocation thing. We are 6 weeks in here at Blacksburg, VA and I hate the newness of still building new friendships and finding drs, etc. Hope Huron treats you well for a really long time!!

Christina,

Yes they are the same exact people group who heard the gospel from the Judsons! Carrie and I have been blessed to serve in the church. Currently there are over 1000 Karen living in Huron and on Sundays there are about 250-300 Karen between the two services. We love it!

Christina, Marc already answered you, but I just wanted to add that we would LOVE to have you visit our church some week if you are up to it. The first Sunday of the month is a combined service so that is really easy (and quicker with the kiddos). Every other Sunday we have 2 services, a primarily English service and a Karen service. You are welcome anytime! My email is thecarrieanderson@gmail.com if you want to contact us!
