Playing adult

Do you ever feel like you are playing "adult"? Sometimes, as I sit at work, I begin to feel a creeping sensation that I am much too young for all this adult stuff. Really? Me? Here? At my own desk? In an office?

Sometimes it is just too much for my psyche.

I think that with past positions, like working at Baylor, I was able to stave off the grownup feelings by the reminder that I was still a student. However, the reality of student loans, car payments, and gym memberships has caught up with me.

It makes me laugh to think that my boss probably has moments where he thinks the same thing. "Me? Vice President? Really?"

I think we all struggle with growing up, whether we admit it to ourselves or not. :)
