Boom Goes the Dynamite

Okay, so I know it has been sent to most of you already via spam emails, but this video is so funny. As a former media studies major this is especially funny. I truly do not understand how one guy could mess up this much in less than four minutes!

Play by play:

21 sec - "Oh no."

1:20 - Mouths "I am so sorry."

2:26 - "...passes it to the man, shoots it and BOOM goes the dynamite!"

The best part is that he is now working as the sports guy at Waco's very own KXXV! Yes, you read that right... Waco.

Fingerprint Update

On the upside, my not-so-great-second-time-around fingerprints were apparently good enough for Texas.

I officially "passed" my background check. Phew! :)

I love this album...and it is FREE!!!

Seriously. The album is free, people. Go download it! If you want to click on the widget above you can hear a sample of Katie's music. I find her very relaxing.

DIY Inspiration

I have been sitting here with family, enjoying their presence, feeling completely exhausted from a long and wonderful busy day and reading up on some of my favorite craft sites on my mother-in-law's computer. Here is some of what I have found and would like to duplicate...when I decide to get crafty. :)

This set of clips from SeeJaneWork.com would be super easy to make, and fun to use at work or home. I see them with a magnet on the back, but we will see what I end up with. Either, way, they seem very fun. :)

The second idea is from Etsy.com. It is for a wrist rest for a computer keyboard and another itty bitty one for the mouse. They are filled with buckwheat and lavender. However, I think I will fill mine with rice and lavender. They would make fun Christmas presents for working women, huh? :)

I really love this idea too. When I go out to interview staff and students for articles, I would love to do it on a homemade clipboard designed just for me. Here is one that is pretty cool.

Getting Printed

Well it has finally happened. I have been fingerprinted.

My job required that I get fingerprinted because of my close work with the youth. Apparently they don't trust people who have lived out of state in the last five years. :)

I arrived at the fingerprinter (is that really a title?) last week and was surprised to find out that they had an electronic fingerprinting device! No ink involved, not even the disappearing kind! As I was being fingerprinted--which is one of the most odd experiences because they roll your fingers all around to get all sides of the print--I was informed that my fingerprints were exceptional.

As if they would be anything else! :)

She said she knew they were exceptional because they showed up darker on the screen and the darker the print the better. I have no idea how you can judge the strength or value of a fingerprint, but apparently, I have good ones.

So you can understand that it came as a shock to me when I received a phone call yesterday telling me that I would have to come back in to be re-fingerprinted. Apparently my prints were not good enough.

That is what I get for feeling prideful about my beautiful fingerprints.
